Project goal: Construction of an opencast and ore mining and dressing plant on the territory of Svetloosersk talc minefield.
Project description: Complex exploration of Svetloosersk talc minefield implies to locate ore mining and dressing plant close to an opencast. Total area of industrial grounds is approximately 20 hectares. Complex includes an opencast, dumping site, breakage unit, flotation and magnetic concentration unit, micronization units, distribution centers, production premises of the enterprise, tailings management facility, storm water drain of production premises, opencast water drainage, fuel and lubricants warehouse, fire water supply.
General characteristics of an opencast for cropping carbon-bearing and talc ore from Svetloosersk minefield:
Mine technical conditions for field development are favorable. The most acceptable method for field development is an open method.
Annual productivity of an opencast:
Ore – 50000 tons
Mined rock – 90000 tons
Average overburden ratio is planned to be 0.8 tons
Product capacity – 25000 tons
Minefield area is connected with Nadvoitsy settlement by permanently working unpaved road. Distance to Nadvoitsy settlement is 165 km, to Valday settlement is 55 km.
Level of project readiness: In the framework of scientific research “Cost estimate of Svetloosersk talc minefield” (2004) lab experiments of raw product was carried out, the scheme for ore development is elaborated to obtain microtalc, techno-economic justification of Svetloosersk talc minefield exploration is prepared. Studies of technological characteristics of talk ore are organized. Technological scheme for obtaining microtalc that is used in producing industrial rubber goods and plastic mass, in ceramic and paper industry is elaborated.
Total volume of project investments – 115 million RUR (according to the estimate in 2007)
Source of project financing – funds of investor
Discount payback period – 2 years
Anticipated effect: talc, microtalc - 25000 tons per year
Level of profitability: 76%
Talc (microtalc) is used in the production of construction materials, paint and varnish products, ceramic, plastic and fire resistant items, cosmetics and medicine. It can be used by pulp and paper enterprises to produce white paper.
