Project discription: Wireless detectors networks based on of nanoNET and nanoLOC technologies are the basis for creating plenty of applications in various spheres.
Detectors networks with possibility to measure distance between radio modules in enclosed rooms with precision of up to 1 meter consist of several reference stationary centers which haphazardly exchange packets with mobile centers.
Basic characteristics of the project: the basis of designed networks is nanoNET and nanoLOC wireless technologies. Their basic characteristics are:
• License-free frequency band of 2.4 GHz;
• Unique patented way of signal coding;
• Data transmission at the speed of up to 2 Mbit per second;
• Measuring of distance between sending and receiving centers is carried out simultaneously with data transmitting;
• Ultralow energy consumption in energy saving mode and the most efficient (in comparison to other communicative radio technologies) energy usage in broadcasting mode.
Field of application:
1. Automation of engineering processes
2. Smart Home technology
3. Centralized systems of data collecting from distribution indicators’
4. Control over traffic and cargo flows
Market estimates: According to foreign experts’ estimates, market of wireless detectors systems is to reach 5-7 billion USD in 5 years. Now there are no competitive technologies combining high speed of data transmission, low energy consumption and possibility to automatically measure distance between centers; what is more such competitors are unlikely to occur in the next 2-3 years.
Application designs with usage of nanoLOC are very few due to cutting edge technology (first chips entered the market only in 2007); anyway market niche has been already formed.
Development stage: There are pilot samples of radiomodules. Experimental tests for assessing quality and range capability of intercommunication have been conducted. Prototype of detectors network has been created, and a project has been implemented on its basis (sonic echo sounders network for analysis of fish resources dynamics). Innovative potential of the design has been assessed.
Project requirements: Contribution in promotion of technologies of wireless detectors networks; investments totaling 6.5 million RUR for 2 years for revision of the system up to the level of a model business solution.
