Geography
Suoyarva municipal district is located in the western part of the Republic of Karelia and borders Muezersky, Kondopozhsky, Medvezhyegorsky, Pryazhinsky, Pitkyarantsky, Sortavalsky districts. The eastern border of the Suoyarva district coincides with the eastern border of the Republic of Karelia and with the state Russian‑Finnish border.
