Geography
Belomorsky district is located in the northeastern part of the Republic of Karelia. The territory of the district lies on the oldest geological formations along the coast of the Onega Bay of the White Sea. From the north, the district borders with Kemsky, from the west — with Kalevalsky and Muezersky, from the south — with Segezha municipal districts, in the southeast - with the Arkhangelsk region. From the east, the entire length of the coast is washed by the White Sea, the coastline is 200 km.

Railway and automobile modes of transport
The lines of the Oktyabrskaya Railway and the Northern Railway connect at the Belomorsk station.
